The Klippan area carries a dramatic past. Here stood the old Älvsborg fortress, centre of several conflicts between Sweden and Denmark. Later came Älvsborg town, and the area evolved into an industrial hub with breweries, sugar mills and maritime businesses. We trace its development to the present and explain why this ground was once called Sweden's most expensive.
